Ashridge Automobiles are delighted to have been asked to sell this rare Riley,the epitome of sleek 1930`s sporting saloons. It has the Riley 12/4 engine mated to a preselecta gearbox and is very much the interim model before the 12/4 Kestrel was produced in earnest. As such the 4 light body is on the `narrow track` chassis as with the 9hp models but has the much more powerful 12/4 engine before it was installed in the widetrack chassis.As such this lovely car has a distinctly vintage feel but oodles of power to keep up with modern driving conditions.
AVE 6 has had the engine,brakes and steering completely overhauled and benefits from a new body frame.floor pan,wings and running boards. She is a matching numbers car and the number plate which is tranferrable comes with the car. The present custodian did not want to part the two even though offered a large sum of money and would like to see it kept with the car but that is entirely at the discretion of the next owner.
She is finished in black over sage green with a lovely leather interior and fully working instrument panel.
A lovely car for all manner of events and well worth thinking about if considering Riley ownership.
