Riley Sports Special 1932

Reg No: PFF 490 - Chassis No: 6019206 - Engine No: 42618 - Price: On application.

This is car not for the faint hearted! Possibly the most developed Riley Racing Special to come on the market for some time this car was a proven winner throughout the 80`s and 90`s where upon it was totally rebuilt by the last owner to the most exacting standards. Since then the car has not been used or raced and will need bedding in and ongoing `tweaking` but the spec alone should give some idea of its potential.

Although MOT`d and road registered it is not in its present guise road user friendly having stiff suspension, low clearance and a heavy competition clutch and no screen but this could be altered by a new owner if so desired.
As can be seen by the photos (better ones to be uploaded in the next few days) the car is completely set up for quick hill climbs and racing.
Part of the specification is as follows:

Omega STD pistons giving 10.3 : 1
Phoenix crank and rods with VW shells
New STD liners, head and block skimmed.#
Ford valves and springs
New Piper Cams made to spec . Valve timing. Inlet ; Open 38 BTDC Close 78 ABDC.
Exhaust ; Open 78 BBDC Close 38 ATDC
New oil pump
Dural flywheel with MGB clutch
Hydraulic braking system....one of the best Riley results according to Mot!
New alloy fuel tank;switchable for hillclimbs
New radiator and manual fan.
New Blockley tyres and tubes

Plus much, much more.

This potent machine has 4 SU`s fitted as well as a 4 branch purpose built exhaust and comes with twin SU`s included in the price if the 4 prove to tricky to keep in tune.

The car weighs under 12 cwt and is looking for an owner who wants potentially one of the most competitive non supercharged Rileys for all out racing and hill climbs and to continue its development . Please remember it has not been used for some 15 years so will need to be handled with care.

A slight tendency towards lunacy may be advisable if considering purchase!
